I want to take better pictures, I want to improve on the way I see things, I want to see my progress.
So I have decided to create a blog to post a picture a day. Hopefully by the end of the year I will have accomplished my goals . . . documenting the year with a picture a day and improving my photography skills.
I hope you enjoy!
This bird was sitting in one of our trees. It took me a while to get this picture. He must of flown away and come back about ten times - and I was glad about it. I finally got a good picture.
This statue of Guadalupe is tucked away in the corner of the parking lot of Sanbusco Market Center. I have seen it many times but finally took a picture.
I have always loved lions and eventually I started collecting them. A couple of the lions in my collection are from Swarovski. I really love the style and quality of their work.
Well we woke up this morning to another snowy day. We went for quite a while without snow but it seems to be happening more frequently. I am not complaining - I love it.
This TRex is one a few dinosaurs that are outside a business very near my house. I see them every day when I head into town. Today I decided to stop and take pictures.
This is a picture of our Piñon tree. We got this tree as a potted plant to be our firstChristmas tree back in 1990. It is now planted outside in the front of the house.
Today both of the dogs followed me all day. When I grabbed the camera they both went and laid down. I got this great picture of Daisy as she watched my every move.
I took a walk with Daisy and Buddy this afternoon and I loved the way the sky looked in the late afternoon. The sun was starting to set and the clouds were beautiful.
While walking at Ironwood Picnic Area in the Tucson Mountain Park I took this picture of this beautiful black bird. I later found out it was a Phainopepla.
We spent the day walking on the Molino Basin Trail and passed plenty of Jumping Chollas. Luckily we never got attacked. From a distance they kind of look fuzzy but up close it is an entirely different story.
I took a walk today in the railyard. The Santa Fe Southern Railroad train that goes between Santa Fe and Lamy was sitting at the depot. I liked the way it looked with the clouds and blue sky above it.
It snowed again last night and this morning. The weather reports state that this will probably continue until Thursday. Here is a picture of our peach tree with its winter coat.
I saw this plant and liked the stalk. So I stopped to take a picture. I have looked things up and not sure if I identified it correctly. It seems to be Sotol or Desert Spoon. But I am not sure.
I took a walk down Canyon Road today. I passed the Selby Fleetwood Gallery and saw this statue out front. This gallery always has interesting sculptures.
I love traveling, I am an avid amateur photographer, I love being outdoors. I frequently go on what I call "Art Walks" - I like outdoor, public art and spend lots of time exploring Santa Fe looking for new pieces.
