While on my daily walk I passed this house with this wonderful blue gate. It is a very good example of Santa Fe Style and you can see it all over Santa Fe.
The past two days have been cold and we have gotten a good amount of snow. It is still lingering in the yard.
These trees are out back of my house. It was pretty cold today and they were covered with frost. I thought they were quite beautiful.
When I woke up this morning and looked out the window - this is what I saw. So I quickly bundled up and went outside to take some pictures of the snow.
I took a walk on the property today and noticed that a lot of the junipers were full of pollen. I took this picture and quickly moved away. I am allergic to juniper pollen.
I was taking a walk and this wall of turquoise mailboxes caught my eye. This is pretty typical in Santa Fe. The turquoise and adobe colors are everywhere.
I couldn't resist taking this picture of Buddy. For once he was sitting still and I could get a great candid shot.
Well the snow has stopped (at least for now) and the sun is back in full force. The latest round of snow really covered the Sangre de Cristos.
I had this vase sitting on shelf. I decided to pull a leaf from one of the houseplants and place it in the vase. I placed it in a window and liked the way the sun was hitting it.
Buddy has really enjoyed all the snow we have been getting. There were a couple of spots where the snow was deeper than he is tall - it didn't seem to bother him.
While downtown today I took this picture of a pine branch loaded with snow. Everything looks so beautiful around town all white and sparkly.
I took a drive up Hyde Park Road. I stopped at the Little Tesuque Picnic Area and was happy to see the amount of snow that the mountain has received. I had a great walk today.
We were in Cedar Crest today just because. On the drive back home we stopped in Golden so I could take a few pictures of the San Francisco Church.
Back in October we spent a week or so on the Oregon Coast. During our trip we visited a glass blowing gallery and got to make our own floats. Today I took a picture of one of those floats hanging in our window at home.
I was on Highway 14 today and I stopped to take this picture of the Cerrillos Hills. I have hiked in those hills many times and they are just as beautiful up close as they are far away.
I was in Stanley, NM today. If you blink your eyes you may just miss it. There is a post office, a cemetery and a few houses. Mostly what I saw were these falling down buildings.
I walked the property today looking for pictures to take and I wasn't having any luck. As I was walking up the driveway I noticed our gate and wall and the way the sun was hitting it. I like the warmth of this picture. Our house sits on property that was part of the Homestead Act that Thomas' grandparents were able to take part in.
Today the yard was full of my little feathery friends. I sat on the porch for an hour just watching them fly around. I caught this on in the pear tree. I am not sure what kind of bird this is (I didn't take the time to look it up).
We have one pinyon tree on the property. It is located at our front gate - it was our very first Christmas tree. We bought it potted at a nursery and after Christmas we planted it in the front yard. It is now 19 years old.
This ridge of rock is located just south of Galisteo, NM. Every time I pass it I wonder if it has a name. To me it looks like the ridges of a dinosaurs back.
I spent this afternoon at Museum Hill. I always like walking around this place. This statue is near the parking area and is by Bob Haozous.
The Shasta Daisy is my favorite flower. So when I saw some at the market today I grabbed a bunch. They really brightened the house.
Today I noticed quite a few birds out in the back of the house. I got a chair and went sit out by the tree. I loved the bright blue wings of these birds when they were flying. I did a little research and I think they might be Western Bluebirds.
I took a walk down Canyon Road and passed Nathalie. I got this picture of this statue and just loved it.
I visited the State Capitol today. While walking the grounds I came across this statue. I had never seen it before. This is a statue that recognizes the efforts of CCC Workers in the United States.
This tree is in our backyard and is in its winter glory. I took the picture this way because I like the branches against the blue sky.
I took a walk today on the property. All of the Chollas were covered in yellow fruit. I liked the close-up of this picture where you can almost feel the spines.
Well I am starting a new year of pictures. I took a few today while walking around the property but this sunset tonight really caught my attention. Happy New Years!
